2014 School Health Conference

The Indiana School Health Network held their 5th annual school health conference on June 24th and 25th kicking it off with keynote speakers: Glenda Ritz, Superintendent of Public Insruction, Donna Cohen Ross from the CMS, Dr. Nancy Swigonski from the Division of Children’s Health Services Research, and Dr. Leslie Hulvershorn, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry Chief, Adolescent Dual Diagnosis Clinic at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Speakers shared their insights on the federal, state and regional issues that impact schools and school health services and the impact the Affordable Care Act has had on school health. President Mitch Daniels from Purdue University presented the Governor & Cheri Daniels School Health Award to Deb Martin, Principal of Madison Primary Center in South Bend, Indiana.

Conference attendees came together in Indianapolis to network and learn more about school health initiatives across the country and how to access the resources available for school-based clinics and coordinated school health services. National, regional and local speakers and exhibitors shared valuable information on how to support these efforts.
