The Delaware County Coalition is committed to keeping its partners informed of the changes in the healthcare taking place in the state of Indiana. The Quarterly Luncheon Programs have continued to be an excellent source of information for community leaders, agencies, and coalition members. In 2007, luncheon topics included information on Indiana’s Eligibility Modernization System, the Healthy Indiana Plan, Hoosier Healthwise, and Indiana Care Select.
Having committed partners has strengthened the capacity of the Delaware County Coalition, resulting in increased resources to implement the coalition’s activities. Additional opportunities to increase coalition partnerships have helped to increase the coalition’s membership, as well. New partners such as the United Way of Delaware County have attended meeting of the Quarterly Luncheon Program, the state Marketing and Communications committee and Local Coalitions committee meetings.
In December 2007, Delaware County became the first county to implement Indiana’s Eligibility Modernization System. Since its roll out, the Delaware County Coalition has played a key role in helping the state. Through their experiences, the Delaware County coalition has been able to identify for the state key areas for improving the new system before it is implemented in other regions. Collaboration among all key partners has and continues to be an important component to the coalition’s success to serve children and families identify strengths and challenges.
