The LaPorte County Coalition has expanded its efforts to reach out to families in need of services. In 2007, the coalition hired a Hispanic outreach/enrollment coordinator to work with their Spanish speaking populations. More services are now provided to the increasing Spanish speaking populations in LaPorte County.

In 2007, Cara Logan the Program Director of the LaPorte County Coalition received the Indiana Family Champion Award for her commitment to helping Hoosier families thrive. Receiving this award attracted press coverage from the South Bend Tribune, The Post Tribune, the LaPorte Herald Argus and the Michigan City News Dispatch. This press coverage aided in keeping the public informed of the coalition’s activities and the importance of health coverage.
