2011 has been a very busy year for the Covering Kids and Families Coalition of NE Indiana. The Coalition has expanded and now serves Elkhart and Kosciusko County, in addition to: Allen, DeKalb, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben and Whitley County.

The Coalition assisted 1,508 children, adults and families with enrolling in the Hoosier Heatlhwise and Healthy Indiana Plan. The Coalition also assisted 1,185 pregnant women with signing up for Presumptive Eligiblity, allowing them to receive early prenatal care.

CKF-NEIN colloborated with MDwise, Parkview Health, Lutheran Health Network and Healthier Moms and Babies to sponsor a community wide baby shower. Participants were able to come and learn about the importance of prenatal care. CKF-NEIN staff was present to educate participants about Hoosier Healthwise and the Presumptive Eligiblity program for pregnant women.
