Covering Kids & Families of Indiana held its Sixth Annual Back-to-School Kickoff event Wednesday, July 23, 2008. Over 60 people attended the event at the Indiana Statehouse. Featured speakers included our host, Dr. Suellen Reed, Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction, Dr. Judy Monroe, Indiana State Health Commissioner, and Dr. Jeff Wells, Medicaid Director, Indiana Family & Social Services Administration. The event highlighted how important Hoosier Healthwise and Healthy Indiana Plan programs are for children, adults and families to have access to health care coverage and services that allow them to be ready for the new school year. Families shared their personal experience of being uninsured until they were enrolled in these programs. Click here for featured articles.
