Carl Ellison

Carl Ellison is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Indiana Minority Health Coalition (IMHC), a statewide health advocacy organization he helped found in 1992.  He previously served for more than 10 years as Chief Operating Officer of the organization.  Prior to joining IMHC, Carl was Executive Director of the Butler County Ohio Community Health Centers where he managed a network of community health centers.

For nearly 20 years, Carl served in various positions at Memorial Hospital of South Bend ending as Vice President of Community Affairs.  During his tenure, he was responsible for guiding the development and execution of many successful community health improvement programs.

Carl earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Black Studies from the University of Notre Dame.  Afterward, he served as the Director of Community and Economic Development of the City of South Bend and later served for two (2) years within the U.S. Small Business Administration in Washington D.C. as Deputy Associate Administrator for Minority Small Business.

Carl joined the CKF-IN Board of Directors in 2009, serving as Chair from 2014 through 2016, and represents the Indiana Minority Health Coalition as a Permanent member.  He is an active member of the Governance Committee.
