Laurie Weinzapfel is the Health Equity Officer for United Healthcare Community and State. In this role Laurie works to identify and address health disparities, has oversight of population health initiatives, and social drivers of health for UHC’s Indiana Medicaid programs. Laurie brings 20 plus years of Medicaid health plan experience that includes leadership roles in Customer Service, Outreach, and Quality. She also has experience working in DFR, DCS and in direct service with children and families in residential treatment.
Laurie has bachelor and master’s degrees in social work from Indiana University. She serves on several community boards, including NASW, Indiana Political Action for Candidate Election (PACE) committee, the Indiana University School of Social Work Alumni Association, the Indianapolis Chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW), Speedway Parks Board, and Indiana Family to Family.
