Doris Higgins joined Covering Kids & Families of Indiana in 2013 but has been involved with healthcare coverage programs since 1999. She serves as Director of Agency Support & Community Strategies and specializes in providing high-touch technical assistance to CKF lead agencies. Doris is remarkable in identifying and building connections with all levels and types of organizations. She is able to inspire and cultivate connections into partnerships furthering the mission of connecting Hoosiers to healthcare coverage.
Passionate about the power of grassroots efforts to effectuate change, she is dedicated to a future where healthcare coverage is a right not a privilege.
Doris holds a Bachelor of Science in business from Indiana University and a Master of Public Administration from Western Michigan University.
Before joining CKF-IN, Doris worked for a range of non-profit organizations including the original Beds and Britches, Etc. (B.A.B.E.) program, the Indiana State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), and the Volunteer Center of Southwest Michigan. She also served in the Peace Corps.
